Urban Voices Heard - Write Outloud! Bronx Poets Inspiring All Who'll listen.

Every second Saturday of the month, Z'novia's (restuarant/bar) in the Bronx is filled with energetic, rhyme spewing, truth spit'n, haiku drop'n, word twist'n spoken word artists and the folks who love them. As resident photographer, I had the pleasure of  photographing an Urban Voices Heard's open-mic poetry event "Write Out loud" hosted by John "Chance" Acevedo of El Poetas and organized by Ms. Latanya DeVaughn, founder of Urban Voices Heard."

As a Purchase College SUNY student years ago, poetry circles, conga jam sessions, and random acts of dance took place on campus anywhere that a heart could beat;  that is,  until university police rolled in and shut it down.  Nostalgic and engaging, Urban Voices Heard - Write Out Loud open mic event series is an event worth schlepping from wherever to both inspire and be inspired.

I hope you guys get to visit here in Tennesee. We could use some good music too. My Mom loves your genre. She would definitely love to hear you live. Thanks for sharing.
