Meet my Choir Director, Pete Malinverni (in the clip after the coverage on Wynton Marsalis. Pete is interviewed by NY1 while rehearsing with his Brooklyn based choir). Founder of the Purchase College Soul Voices Ensemble, Pete has created an opportunity that extends beyond the conservatory of music, where students of any major could audition and join in on the hymms of old negro spirituals and music inspired by the African American experience. I think everyone in the choir would agree that he is a pleasure to work with, and its an honor to share the stage with him.
